This actually made me laugh. The Sun enters Virgo today, but let’s not just talk about the generic stuff…
Ah Virgo, here to hold us all to a higher standard.
I LOVE them…. and…. damn, I feel so judged by them.
It’s true… Virgos can be judgemental of others.
But here’s the thing: they judge themselves even more harshly than they do others.
People often talk about Virgos being tidy and organised. And yes they can be. But that feels too reductionist.
Virgo is more about having a very strong idea of how things should be.
There needs to be some kind of order.
They look at the world and think, surely we could do this better?
And sometimes that comes across as an air of authority. Like they are quietly surveilling everyone.
But underneath the feeling of what can sometimes be interpreted as ‘I’m better than you’ is something more interesting.
Their perfectionism can be a defence mechanism to keep out connection, perhaps because of a fear of vulnerability.
Being ‘right’ can feel safer than being close. If you can win the argument, it can create a feeling of power.
Control can feel safer too. If you can anticipate what might go wrong, fix it before it happens, and keep things running properly, you don’t have to sit in the uncertainty.
Virgos can hold themselves to very high standards, and sometimes underneath that is a feeling that they’re not quite good enough inside.
They can have a fear of not getting it ‘right’.
But… They play a necessary role in the world.
Ruled by Mercury, they have a brilliant mind, they notice things.
Virgo is here to discern. To see what isn’t working. To improve things. To have higher standards.
They are HEALERS. They see what needs attention and want to make it better.
They are the sign of SERVICE. They have important things to DO.
They have ethics and values. They care.
And honestly, if you feel judged by a Virgo, there might actually be something there for you to look at.
Not because Virgo is always right. Lord above no.
But because that Virgo part of us can see where we’re not quite living up to our own standards.
Maybe we COULD be doing something better?
Virgos are absolutely worth listening to!
They are bloody good people to have in your life.
They notice the things you miss, they tell you the truth, and they genuinely want things and people to be better.
And don’t think they are prudes either (I saw someone saying this on Instagram). Virgos are a bit of a dark horse here.
They can be the epitome of ‘lady in the streets, freak in the sheets’ – with the right person – who, yes, of course, must live up to their impeccable standards.
Virgo energy can feel extremely magnetic.
My North Node is in Virgo and I am very drawn to Virgo energy. They’ve taught me a great deal over the years.
Many of my mentors and guides have had strong Virgo in their charts.
So perhaps I keep finding them because Virgo has even more to teach me about discernment, standards, service… and maybe not taking every bit of judgement quite so personally.
Oh and the Sun in Virgo is in a grand trine with Chiron in Taurus and Lilith at the end of Sagittarius right now.
